Anyone who still remembers how people used to grind and polish will know what a godsend automation of that work represents. But we're convinced that automation has an even greater future ahead of it – even for tasks where manual processing today is still cheaper.
Because the actual benefits of automation lie in the increased quality, the precise reproduction of the manufacturing processes, the flexibility of software-based production and, very often, the amazing performance.
With the technology already available today, an increasing number of products are being produced on an unattended basis, i.e. fully automatically, and more and more factories are dispensing with manual labour altogether – car body construction in the automotive indsutry, for instance. This process is irreversible and driven to a significant degree by economic considerations and pressures. Yet there is certainly a different and better quality of life and work at the other end.
And the thought of having contributed to that does make us feel rather proud.
